Antonina Styczeń is a freelance flute player, soloist, explorer of modern musical currents and a winner of Astral’s Artist 2018 National Auditions. Currently studying Flute Performance Artist Diploma at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, US in the studio of Sarah Brady. Member of Alara Ensemble the BCB Honors Ensemble for 2017-2018 season. Graduated with distinction from both the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the prestigious conservatory Royal College of Music in Madrid. Laureate of numerous music competitions (e.x. International Music Competition in Bukarest) and beneficiary of various scholarships (e.x. Fundación Albeniz in Spain, Scholarship of the Minister of Culture of Poland “Young Poland”, twice Prize for Artistic Achievements of the Minister of Culture of Poland, three times winner of “Open Philharmonic of Music ‘Safety Pin’” (prestigious Polish foundation for young musicians).

Benefited from master class guidance from respected pedagogues such as Jim Walker, Denis Buriakov, Nadine Asin, Andras Adorjan, Walter Auer, Samuel Coles, David Dolan, Carsten Eckert, Pierre Ives-Artaud and Andrea Lieberknecht.

Played as soloist alongside ensombles including the Silesian Chamber Orchestra and Polish Chamber Philharmonic, as well as esteemed musicians such as Hansjorg Schellenberger and Siegfried Mauser. Soloist on the final night of the 6th International Music Festival Energa Sopot Classic in 2016.

In 2016 she released her debut album “Mieczysław Wajnberg: Works for flute”, recorded together with Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra with Wojciech Rajski, published by the German recording label TACET.

Antonina is also involved in electronic and improvisation music. This year she debuted with “Witkacy 622 vol.1: Performance for opera singer, electronics, harp and flute”. She is working together with Andrzej Karałow on their next experimental project in this space – ASAK.

Antonina also has a second passion – horse riding. Since 2011 she is associated with Chojnów Stables where she is training with the multiple Polish Championship winner and Olympic rider – Grzegorz Kubiak. As a professional horse rider (vice-championship of Poland in Show Jumping), Antonina’s dream is to connect both passions in a novel mix of music and equitacion.
